Northrop Grumman's Aeronautics Systems sector is hiring Staff Radar Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals on our MDC2 development programs. This role is located in Melbourne, FL.Essential Functions:
  • Requirements analysis, development, allocations and tracking
  • Performing functional analysis, timeline analysis, running detailed trade studies, translating customer requirements into hardware and software specifications
  • Providing design assessments
  • Performing cost trades
  • Performing risk analysis
  • Developing mitigation plans and tracking to closure
  • Development of the subsystem specifications
  • Managing suppliers, review and analysis of supplier design data, definition of functional test requirements including acceptance, qualification, system integration, and support test execution
  • Identifying/planning/executing informal and formal testing of subsystem requirements in lab, troubleshooting hardware in the lab
  • Leading aircraft ground and flight test on subsystems to validate and verify subsystem requirement and sell-off
  • Leading technical discussions with the customer and having daily interaction with management, external personnel, customers, and various sub teamsBasic Qualifications:
    • Must have a Bachelor's of Science degree AND 14 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, OR a Master's degree AND 12 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering, OR a Ph.D. AND 9 years of related professional/military experience in Engineering.
    • Must have at least 5 years of radar engineering/analysis experience.
    • Must have an active DoD Secret clearance (or higher) that is in-scope (granted or renewed within the last 6 years).
    • Must be able to attain and maintain Special Program Access (PAR/SAP).Preferred Qualifications:
      • Active/Current Special Program Access (PAR/SAP)
      • Strong understanding of airborne radar systems, hardware and capabilities
      • Functional knowledge of radar tracking and discrimination algorithms, and/or radar control algorithms
      • Strong understanding of RF waveforms and signal processing
      • Experience leading engineering activities, including identifying, planning and executing required activities across a matrixed, multi-functional team
      • Effective communicator, capable of effectively translating and presenting complex concepts to both technical and non-technical management and customers

        Salary Range: 134700 - 202100

        Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
