Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Sr Principal Engineer Aeronautical - Flight Test to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne FL.

Essential Functions:
The Engineer is responsible for supporting planning and coordinating all lab and flight test requirements on the E-2D program. Candidate shall display professionalism, motivation, strong leadership skills, and ability to work independently. Should be able to function as a key technical subject matter expert of the test team and will interface directly with the Integrated Test Team and customer to coordinate test requirements, test planning, and reporting of test results. Developing and maintaining flight-test support materials and mission flight-test profiles. The candidate should be comfortable with making real-time decisions in a high-risk fast-paced test environment. Able to collaborate in a team environment and prioritize multiple responsibilities and/or accomplishing them. Candidate will work with offsite flight test group and on site lab test group. They will help evaluated threat scenarios and develop testing to validate requirements and assess capabilities.

The selected candidate should thrive in a fast-paced work environment with high expectations, significantly diverse assignments, collaborative/team settings across all levels.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 9+ years of test and/or integration engineering experience OR Master's Degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 7+ years of test and/or integration engineering experience OR PhD Degree in a (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and 5+ years of test and/or integration engineering experience
  • Mission Systems experience
  • Must have an Active, In-Scope DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher that has been grated / renewed within the past 6 years to start
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a DOD Top Secret Security Clearance and Special Program AccessPreferred Qualifications:
    • Experience in telemetry room as a test conductor and/or data monitor for flight and ground testing.
    • Recent Flight Test Engineer experience.
    • Full understanding of all aspects of testing to include requirements definition, test planning, test conduct and test reporting.
    • Experiences in an Gov/contractor Integrated Test Teat (ITT, ITF, CTF, etc) Salary Range: $108,600 USD - $163,000 USD

      Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
