Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems sector is seeking a Sr. Principal Mission Processing Architecture Engineer to join our diverse and talented team. This position will be located in Melbourne, FL.
The selected candidate will coordinate the engineering activities associated with the development activities for an electro-optical/infrared sensor system capability, or set of capabilities.

The successful candidate must have a background in the concepts, design and implementation of computing architecture for mission processing solutions. This position will be required to support program planning, vendor management, system verification, and to support program milestone planning, reviews, and execution. The position is expected to provide leadership for developing requirements and verification materials, development of physical and functional ICD's between entities, and coordinating mission management software team and air vehicle integration activities.
Candidate will contribute to high-visible activities and have opportunities to periodically demonstrate integrated capabilities to sector leadership and high value customers.
Essential Functions:
  • Performs technical planning, system integration studies, verification and validation analysis, risk and opportunities planning, performance and integration trades.
  • Perform hardware component trade studies
  • Analyses are performed at all levels of total system product to include: concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance.
  • Ensures the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints.
  • Performs functional analysis, timeline analysis, detail trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies.
  • Direct customer and supplier interaction to include regular presentations and detailed analysis of sensor design
    Basic Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline from an accredited university and at least 9 years of experience OR Master's Degree in STEM and 7 years of experience
    • Must have direct processing hardware architecture design experience.
    • Must have experience in requirements development and specification generation.Must have experience in Software Development lifecycle.
      • Must have an Active, In-Scope DOD Secret Security Clearance or higher is required, and able to obtain and maintain special program access
        Preferred Qualifications:
        • Strong technical writing and communication skills. Flexibility to evolving program environments.Proven ability to communicate with suppliers and other IPTs.
          • Prefer engineering degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Engineering, or Engineering Physics.
          • Experience in developing network topology solutions
          • Proven ability to brief technical presentations to stakeholders.
          • Familiarity in Agile and Digital Engineering processes
            • Active in-scope Top Secret clearance with current or previous Special Program Access (PAR)

              Salary Range: 108600 - 163000

              Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
