Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an opening for a Virtual Simulation Tactical Simulation Engineer to join our team of qualified, diverse individuals. This position will be located in Melbourne FL. Essential Functions: The qualified candidate will support the development and execution of Virtual Simulation (aka Pilot-In-The-Loop) testing in next generation air war mission environment. The main responsibility of this position will be test product definition and development as well as associated Concepts of Employment (CONEMPS) and Concepts of Operations (CONOPS). Other responsibilities of the position will be to model and/or develop logical designs that model next generation aircraft avionics capabilities to include multi-spectral sensors, communications, and electronic warfare. Duties will include execution of all steps Pilot-In-The-Loop testing process: problem definition, design of experiment, simulation requirements development, test article verification and validation, training of operators, conducting tests, analyzing data, and reporting results to stakeholders.Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's Degree in a Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) discipline and 9+ years of software engineering experience OR-Master's Degree in STEM and 7+ years of experience ORPhD in STEM and 4+ years of experience Experience performing systems/operational analysis, and/or weapon systems analysis in air war applications.Experience performing weapon system level design, integration, or test and evaluation.An active interim Top Secret clearance. Preferred Qualifications: An understanding of tactical aircraft aero-performance, sensors, weapons, and communicationOperations Analysis and/or Virtual Simulation experienceWeapon System level test and evaluationUSN Top Gun, USAF Weapon School, and/or USN/USAF Aggressors.An understanding of Integrated Air Defense Systems and capabilities.An active Top Secret clearanceAn active SCI clearance.Competent writing and communication skills.
